Pantone's Colour of 2015 'Marsala' - in the nursery
Every December Pantone announces the much awaited 'colour of the year'. Last year it was 'radiant orchid' - a beautiful shade of purple that was seen in many gorgeous nurseries in 2014.
This years selection 'Marsala' - an earthy wine red - has been received with mixed reactions. While it works well in fashion and home it's a pretty difficult colour to incorporate in nurseries and kids rooms. Besides the fact that its a rather grown-up colour, the challenge is that there are very few 'marsala' products out there in kids decor (though i'm sure this will change in the next few months!). Marsala works well with shades of blue (from turquoise to teal) and with different shades of pink.
Here's Feroza's mood board for a 'marsala' nursery using our popular black and white 'Starburst' dohar. I love how its come together. For a boy's nursery you can try using marsala with teal, aqua and lime green.
